About JET — What This Exam Is For

The Jharkhand Eligibility Test is conducted by JPSC for two purposes: (1) determining eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across Jharkhand, and (2) eligibility for PhD admission in Jharkhand state universities. This is Jharkhand's equivalent of UGC-NET — clearing JET makes you eligible for faculty positions specifically within Jharkhand.

Exam Pattern at a Glance

JET has two papers:

• Paper I — General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude: 50 questions, 100 marks. Covers Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Comprehension, Communication, Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Higher Education, ICT, and People & Environment.
• Paper II — Subject-specific: 100 questions, 200 marks. Based on the subject the candidate has opted for (same as their postgraduate specialisation).
