MPESB Group 5 Staff Nurse — Exam Day Complete Guide

Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB) has released the Admit Card for Group 5 Staff Nurse and Other Posts Recruitment 2026. This is a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted by MPESB for nursing and paramedical posts under the Madhya Pradesh Health Department. Your admit card contains your exam date, shift, exam centre address, and reporting time.

MPESB Group 5 includes: Staff Nurse, Lab Technician, X-Ray Technician, Pharmacist, and other paramedical posts. Each post has its own question paper. Make sure you know which post you applied for — appearing in the wrong paper is not correctable after the exam.

Documents to Carry on Exam Day

  • Printed Admit Card — download from peb.mp.gov.in. Colour print preferred; photograph must be clearly visible.
  • Original Photo ID — Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or Passport. ID name must match admit card exactly.
  • 2 recent passport-size photographs
  • No mobile phone, smartwatch, Bluetooth devices, or electronic calculators inside the exam hall
  • No paper chits, books, or notes — MPESB CBT venues have strict bag checking at entry

MPESB Group 5 Staff Nurse Exam Pattern

Staff Nurse paper: 100 MCQ questions. Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours). Negative marking: −0.25 per wrong answer. Syllabus covers: Nursing Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Anatomy/Physiology basics.

The exam is conducted in Hindi and English — questions appear in both languages simultaneously. You can answer in whichever language you're more comfortable with understanding the question.

Common Admit Card Problems — How to Handle Them

Photograph not visible: Print a new copy with better print quality. If the photo remains unclear, bring the original passport photo and a photocopy of the admit card — inform the invigilator before sitting down.

Name spelling error on admit card: Minor spelling variations (with official ID clearly matching) are usually accepted. Major discrepancies — contact MPESB's helpdesk through peb.mp.gov.in before your exam date. Don't wait until exam day to discover a problem.

Wrong exam centre shown: Exam centre assignments by MPESB are final — you must appear at the centre shown. If the centre location is unfamiliar, visit the address one day before the exam to avoid getting lost on the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can Staff Nurse candidates use reference books during the CBT?

No. CBT is a closed-book exam — nothing is allowed inside the exam hall except your admit card and ID. All questions are from memory. This is standard for all MPESB CBT examinations.

Q: What happens after clearing the written exam?

After the CBT result, shortlisted candidates go through Document Verification. For nursing posts specifically, you'll need to submit your GNM/BSc Nursing certificate, MP Nursing Council registration, domicile certificate, and category certificates. Medical fitness certificate from a government hospital is also required at the time of joining.

Q: Is MP domicile mandatory for Group 5 posts?

Yes. MPESB Group 5 recruitment is exclusively for Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates. You must have a valid MP domicile certificate from your tehsil/district office. Candidates from other states cannot apply or appear.
