Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the Exam City Intimation Slip for RRB NTPC Undergraduate Level CEN 07/2025. This is one of the most anticipated railway recruitment cycles of 2026 — 3,050 posts at the 10+2 level across four posts: Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk (2,424), Accounts Clerk Cum Typist (394), Junior Clerk Cum Typist (163), and Trains Clerk (77). If you applied for this exam, your Exam City Slip is now available. The full Admit Card will release 4 days before your individual exam date.

Exam City Slip vs Admit Card — What Is the Difference?

Many candidates confuse these two. The Exam City Intimation Slip tells you your city, approximate exam date, and shift — but does not have your Hall Ticket Number or exact exam centre address. The Admit Card (released 4 days before exam) is the actual document you carry to the exam hall — it has your Roll Number, precise exam centre address, reporting time, and photo. You cannot enter the exam hall with only the Exam City Slip. Both need to be downloaded separately.

Exam Schedule — Phase-wise Dates

The CBT is spread across three phases to accommodate the large number of applicants:

  • Phase 1: 7, 8, 9 May 2026
  • Phase 2: 13 and 14 May 2026
  • Phase 3: 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 June 2026

Your exam city slip will clearly show which phase and date you have been assigned to. The assignment is based on your preferred exam city and the availability of test centres there.

CBT Exam Pattern — Full Breakdown

The Computer Based Test has 75 questions in 60 minutes, carrying 75 marks total. The three sections are:

  • Mathematics: 25 questions / 25 marks — Number System, Decimals, Fractions, BODMAS, LCM/HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Algebra basics, Geometry, Trigonometry
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 questions / 25 marks — Analogies, Alphabetical/Number Series, Coding & Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities & Differences, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency
  • General Awareness: 25 questions / 25 marks — Current Events, Indian Geography, History, Culture, Science & Technology, Railways-specific GK, Polity, Economy, Environment

Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS 40%, OBC/EWS 30%, SC/ST 25%.

What Happens After CBT?

Based on CBT performance, candidates 20 times the vacancies are shortlisted for the next stage. The selection process for NTPC posts continues with:

  1. CBT (Stage 1) — current stage. Qualifying + merit-based shortlisting
  2. Skill Test / Typing Test — for posts like Accounts Clerk Cum Typist (typing speed 30 WPM English / 25 WPM Hindi) and Junior Clerk Cum Typist
  3. Document Verification — original certificates check
  4. Medical Examination — as per Railway medical standards

Exam Day Preparation — What to Do and What Not to Do

Reach the exam centre at least 45 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on your Admit Card — biometric verification, ID check, and frisking take time. Carry the printed Admit Card and original photo ID (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Passport/PAN). Do not carry mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, wallets, or any electronic device — they will be confiscated and you may be barred from the exam. The CBT uses a computer; you will be given a scratch sheet for rough work. Read all instructions at the start of the exam before attempting questions.

Travel and Accommodation Planning

Since you now know your exam city, start planning travel and stay immediately. Train tickets and hotel rooms near exam centres in major cities get booked up fast — particularly in cities like Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal where multiple exam sessions run on the same days. Do not delay this step. If your assigned city is different from your home city by more than 100 km, book accommodation for the night before the exam to avoid rush-day travel risk.

Important: Admit Card Download — Mark Your Calendar

The full Admit Card releases 4 days before your exam date. If your exam is on 7 May, Admit Card releases around 3 May. Set a reminder. The download portal is the same: rrb.digialm.com. Use your Registration Number and Date of Birth to log in. Print it immediately — do not rely on a phone screenshot at the exam centre.
