SSC CHSL 2025 Rescheduled Exam — What Happened and What to Do
SSC has issued a re-schedule notice for certain SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) 2025 candidates. This means SSC postponed some candidates' original exam dates due to administrative or technical reasons at specific exam centres. If you received a rescheduled exam notice, your old exam date is cancelled — you must appear on the new date shown on your revised admit card.
This happens occasionally in large-scale SSC exams when: a test center reports technical issues (server failure, power outage), natural events affect a region, or SSC detects irregularities at a specific center. Candidates affected are not at fault and are given a fresh slot.
Revised Admit Card — What's Different
Download your revised admit card from ssc.gov.in. Compare the new admit card with your old one:
- New exam date — verify this is different from your original date
- New exam centre — SSC may have changed your centre along with the date; check this carefully
- Shift timing — morning shift (9:00 AM) or afternoon shift (2:00 PM) may have changed
- Roll number stays the same
If your new admit card shows the same date as the original — contact SSC immediately. That's a technical issue.
Exam Day Checklist — CHSL CBT
- Revised admit card (printed — use this new one, NOT the old one)
- Original photo ID (Aadhar / Voter ID / Passport / Driving Licence)
- 2 passport-size photographs
- No electronic devices — phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth earbuds, calculators
- Arrive 60 minutes early — rescheduled exams sometimes have different security protocols at the new centre
SSC CHSL 2025 Exam Pattern Reminder
CHSL Tier 1 (CBT): 100 questions × 2 marks = 200 marks. Duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking: −0.50 per wrong answer. Sections: GK (25), English (25), Quantitative Aptitude (25), Reasoning (25). Qualifying candidates go to Tier 2 (descriptive — Essay + Letter/Application, 100 marks, 60 minutes, offline pen-paper).
CHSL recruits for: LDC (Lower Division Clerk), JSA (Junior Secretariat Assistant), PA (Postal Assistant), SA (Sorting Assistant), DEO (Data Entry Operator) across central ministries and departments. LDC and JSA are the most common posts in terms of vacancy volume.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What if I already appeared on my original exam date — do I need to appear again?
If you successfully appeared and completed your exam on the original date, you are not affected by this rescheduling notice. Rescheduling applies only to candidates who did NOT get to appear (because their centre was cancelled or suspended). Check SSC's official notification — it lists the specific roll number ranges or centre codes affected.
Q: Can I request yet another rescheduling if the new date is inconvenient?
No. SSC does not allow further rescheduling for individual candidates once a new date is assigned. The rescheduled date is final. If you miss it without an extraordinary documented reason, your candidature lapses for that recruitment cycle.
