Full Details / पूरी जानकारी
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Admit Card for the CHSL 2025 Tier II Skill Test, scheduled for 22 April 2026. Candidates who appeared in the CHSL Tier II CBT (held on 10 April 2026) and are eligible for the skill test must download their call letter from the official SSC login portal at ssc.gov.in.
This skill test is the final qualifying stage of the SSC CHSL 2025 recruitment process. It is mandatory and qualifying in nature — candidates must pass it to be included in the final merit list for their respective posts. There is no separate score added from the skill test; it is a pass/fail gate before final selection.
What Is the SSC CHSL Tier II Skill Test?
The Skill Test under SSC CHSL 2025 is post-specific. Different posts have different skill test types:
1. Typing Test — for LDC/JSA and Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant (PA/SA)
Candidates applying for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), or Postal Assistant (PA) / Sorting Assistant (SA) posts appear for a typing test on computer. The speed requirement is:
- English Typing: 35 Words Per Minute (WPM) — equivalent to 10,500 key depressions per hour
- Hindi Typing: 30 WPM — equivalent to 9,000 key depressions per hour
- You type a given passage. Accuracy and net speed both matter.
- VH candidates (visually handicapped) who opt for scribes: speed requirement is reduced by 5 WPM
2. Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) — for Data Entry Operator (DEO)
Candidates selected for DEO posts (excluding DEO Grade A in C&AG) appear for a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST). The requirement is:
- 8,000 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH) on computer
- The test is for 15 minutes — you must achieve 2,000 key depressions in 15 minutes
- The passage is in English only
- For DEO Grade A posts in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG): Typing Test at 35 WPM in English applies instead of DEST

How to Prepare for the Skill Test in the Days Left
You have very little time between Tier II CBT (10 April) and the Skill Test (22 April) — just 12 days. Here's what matters:
- If appearing for Typing Test (LDC/JSA/PA/SA): Practice on a computer keyboard daily. Use sites like typeracer.com or typingclub.com. Focus on accuracy first — errors reduce your net speed. If you opted for Hindi typing, use Kruti Dev or Mangal font practice depending on your comfort. Target 38+ WPM to give yourself a buffer.
- If appearing for DEST (DEO): Practice data entry with numeric + alpha keys. 8,000 KDPH means roughly 133 keystrokes per minute — achievable with practice. Do timed 15-minute sessions daily.
- Don't skip the basics: Download your admit card today. Check exam centre location and travel time. Keep your original ID ready. Report at least 30 minutes before the test start time.
What Happens After the Skill Test?
Once skill test results are declared, SSC compiles the final merit list based solely on Tier II CBT marks. The skill test is only a qualifying hurdle — if you pass it, your merit position depends on your Tier II written score. Final appointment letters and posting preferences are processed after document verification by the respective departments.
Note: Candidates who fail the skill test are not included in the final merit list, regardless of their Tier II written exam score. Clearing the skill test with a comfortable margin (not just the bare minimum) is advisable since borderline passes can sometimes be disputed.
