Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC GD Constable 2025 Admit Card for the Computer Based Examination (CBE) scheduled across April–May 2026. With 25,487 vacancies across the central paramilitary forces, SSC GD Constable 2025 is the largest police/paramilitary recruitment of the year. Posts are distributed across BSF (Border Security Force), CISF (Central Industrial Security Force), CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal), ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), Assam Rifles, and the Special Security Force (SSF).

Exam Schedule — 4 Phases in April–May 2026

  • Week 2: 4–9 May 2026
  • Week 3: 18–23 May 2026
  • Week 4: 25–30 May 2026

Your specific exam date and shift are printed on your Admit Card. Admit Cards are released approximately 3 days before each candidate's exam date — if you haven't received yours yet, check on ssc.gov.in 3–4 days before your expected date.

  • OBC: 33% (52.8 marks)
  • SC / ST: 27% (43.2 marks)

What Happens After CBE — Full Selection Process

CBE is just Stage 1. Candidates who clear it are called for physical testing. Only the top 10 times the vacancies per category are shortlisted for PET/PST from CBE merit.

  1. CBE (Stage 1) — current exam. Merit-based shortlisting for PET/PST
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running — Male: 5 km in 24 minutes | Female: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes. Pass/fail only.
  3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Height — Male General/OBC/EWS/SC: 170 cm | Male ST: 162.5 cm | Female General/OBC/EWS/SC: 157 cm | Female ST: 150 cm. Chest (male only) — unexpanded 80 cm, expanded 85 cm (5 cm expansion).
  4. Medical Examination: Vision, hearing, orthopaedic fitness, no flat feet, colour vision checked. Candidates declared temporarily unfit can appeal.
  5. Document Verification: Original certificates for DOB, education, category
  6. Final Merit List: Based on CBE marks of medically fit candidates

Force-wise Vacancy Breakup

All 25,487 vacancies are distributed across forces. Major allocations include BSF (~6,500+), CRPF (~7,000+), and CISF (~4,000+). The exact force allocation for each selected candidate depends on merit rank, preference, and medical standards specific to each force (BSF/ITBP require higher fitness for border duties).

Exam Day — Complete Checklist

Reach the centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time. Biometric verification (fingerprint scan) is mandatory — it links your application to the exam attempt. Carry: printed Admit Card + original Photo ID. No mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices inside the exam hall. The CBE is computer-based — you type answers by clicking options. A scratch pad is provided for rough work. Be careful with negative marking — wrong answers cost 0.50 marks each, which adds up across 80 questions.

Common Preparation Tips for the Remaining Days

  • GK: Focus on last 6 months current affairs — monthly current affairs capsules work well. Static GK (Indian History, Geography basics, Constitutional facts) should already be done.
  • Maths: Percentage, Ratio, Time-Speed-Distance, and Simple Interest cover ~60% of the Maths questions. Do 20–30 practice questions per topic.
  • Reasoning: Series completion and coding-decoding are the most predictable. Practice SSC GD previous year papers from 2021–2023 for pattern familiarity.
  • English/Hindi: If attempting English, focus on Fill in the blanks and Synonyms/Antonyms — they are the quickest marks. If Hindi, revise Muhavare and Sandhi — they carry consistent weightage.
