Subjects Under This Notification (24 Subjects)

The 624 PGT vacancies cover 24 subjects including Hindi, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Civics, Economics, Commerce, Agriculture, Home Science, Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental), Drawing & Painting, Urdu, Sanskrit, and others. Candidates can only appear for the subject(s) they applied for.

Eligibility (Quick Reference)

  • Education: Post Graduation (Master's degree) in the relevant subject from a recognised university
  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Application Period: 9 June – 10 July 2022 (extended)

Exam Pattern

The PGT written test is in the candidate's specific subject. Questions are objective (MCQ) type, drawing from the Master's level syllabus of that subject. Candidates should revise their post-graduation syllabus, with particular focus on topics that distinguish PGT-level content from graduation-level knowledge.

Selection Process

UP PGT selection is based on the Written Test score only — there is no interview/viva for PGT recruitment. Merit lists are prepared subject-wise and category-wise. After selection, candidates are posted in government intermediate colleges (inter colleges) across UP.
