UPSSSC JE 2024 Mains — Fee Payment and Admit Card Guide
UPSSSC has released the Mains Exam Fee Payment window and Admit Card for Junior Engineer (Civil) 08-Exam/2024 Main Examination. Candidates who cleared the eligibility screening stage must complete fee payment and download their admit card to appear for the Mains exam.
This is the decisive stage — the JE Mains exam determines your final merit rank among the 4,612 civil engineering posts. Your eligibility screening only confirmed you meet the basic qualifications. Mains marks are what actually secure your selection.
Fee Payment — How to Complete It
Log in to upsssc.gov.in with your application credentials. Navigate to the JE 2024 Mains fee payment section. Fee payment is online — Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Confirm payment receipt and save the confirmation number. Without completed fee payment, admit card download is not available.
If you face payment gateway issues: try a different payment method or different browser. If amount is debited but receipt not generated, wait 24 hours — most failed transactions auto-reverse. If deduction is permanent without confirmation, contact UPSSSC helpdesk with your bank statement screenshot and application number.
JE Civil Mains — Exam Pattern and What to Prepare
UPSSSC JE Civil Mains is typically 200 MCQ questions across:
- Civil Engineering Technical (140–160 marks): Structural Engineering (RCC, Steel, Concrete), Fluid Mechanics (pipe flow, pumps, open channels), Soil Mechanics (bearing capacity, consolidation), Surveying, Transportation Engineering (highway design, IRC standards), Environmental Engineering (water treatment, sewage), Estimating and Costing
- General Studies / Reasoning (40–60 marks): Current affairs, UP-specific GK, basic maths, reasoning
Time: 120 minutes. Candidates with Diploma in Civil Engineering typically find the exam achievable; those with B.Tech Civil background tend to have an edge on structural topics. Focus your preparation on the high-weightage sections — Fluid Mechanics and Soil Mechanics questions appear in large numbers in UPSSSC JE papers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the UPSSSC JE exam in Hindi or English?
The technical engineering questions are bilingual — available in both Hindi and English simultaneously on the computer screen for CBT mode exams. You can read in whichever language you prefer. General Studies section is also bilingual. This is different from SSC JE which is also bilingual but paper-based.
Q: How is the final merit list prepared?
Final merit is based solely on Main Exam marks — the eligibility stage is qualifying only. All eligible candidates who appear in Mains are ranked purely on Mains score. Ties are resolved by date of birth (older candidate ranks higher). Final selection is category-wise as per UP reservation norms.
