Jharkhand JHTET 2026 — Last Date 2 June, Apply Now
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has opened applications for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2026. This is the state-level teacher eligibility certification for teaching positions in government schools of Jharkhand. Last date to apply is 2 June 2026 at jactetonline.com. Candidates can apply for Paper I, Paper II, or both.
JHTET is Not a Job — It's a Certificate
It's important to understand that JHTET is an eligibility test, not a direct recruitment. Passing JHTET certifies that you are eligible to apply for government teacher posts in Jharkhand. The JHTET certificate is valid for 7 years. You need to separately apply when teacher recruitment notifications are released. Paper I qualifies you for Class 1–5 teaching, Paper II for Class 6–8.
Which Paper Should You Apply For?
If you have a D.El.Ed (B.T.C.) with a 10+2 background and want to teach primary classes (1–5), choose Paper I. If you are a graduate with B.Ed and plan to teach upper primary (6–8), go for Paper II. If you have both D.El.Ed and B.Ed, you can appear for both papers — the combined fee is ₹1,500 (Gen) or ₹800 (SC/ST), which is cheaper than paying twice.
Passing Score
The qualifying score for JHTET is 60% or above (90 out of 150 marks) for General category, and 55% (82–83 marks) for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates. Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions worth 1 mark each, with no negative marking.
