Salary / Pay
The SET itself does not carry a salary — it is a qualifying eligibility test. Clearing it makes you eligible to apply for Assistant Professor posts in Rajasthan, which are paid at Academic Pay Level 10 (7th Pay Commission) with an entry pay commonly around ₹57,700 per month plus allowances. Treat this pay figure as indicative of the eventual Assistant Professor role; the SET notification does not attach any pay to the test.
Selection Process
Selection is based purely on the SET written examination conducted by University of Kota. The exam is typically held in two papers on the same day — Paper I testing teaching and research aptitude (general) and Paper II testing your chosen subject — both objective-type (MCQ). Candidates who meet the qualifying cut-off are declared SET-qualified and issued an eligibility certificate for Assistant Professor. The exact number of questions, marks and duration are given in the official notification, so confirm the pattern there before you prepare.
