Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a Coal India subsidiary, has opened online applications for 444 posts of Mining Sirdar (T&S Grade-C) and Assistant Foreman (Trainee) Electrical / Electrical Supervisor (T&S Grade-C) for its underground and opencast mines. Eligibility
| Educational Qualification | For Mining Sirdar (T&S Grade-C): a Diploma in Mining Engineering plus a valid Mining Sirdar/Overman Certificate of Competency (DGMS), a valid Gas Testing Certificate, a valid First-Aid Certificate, and the prescribed underground mining experience. For Assistant Foreman (Trainee) Electrical / Electrical Supervisor (T&S Grade-C): a Diploma (minimum 3-year course) in Electrical Engineering plus a valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate of Competency for mines. Higher DGMS statutory competency certificates are also acceptable for the Mining Sirdar post. |

Salary / Pay
The initial basic pay for both posts is ₹47,330.25 per month as per the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA XI). In addition to the basic pay, you also get Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, attendance bonus, special allowance, transport subsidy, medical facility and other allowances as per NCWA XI provisions, which makes the actual monthly gross considerably higher. Career growth after successful completion of training/probation follows the respective cadre schemes and rules.
Selection Process
Selection is done purely on the basis of a Computer Based Test (CBT). There is no interview for these posts. Candidates who qualify the CBT will be shortlisted as per merit and category, followed by document verification and a medical examination before final appointment. Possession of the required statutory competency certificates (Mining Sirdar/Overman, Gas Testing, First-Aid for Mining Sirdar; Electrical Supervisory Certificate for Assistant Foreman) is mandatory to be considered.
