CRISPR-Cas9 myostatin knockout muscle cell line for cultivated seafood
What you should know
If genome editing is your area, this is one of the more interesting projects this month. ICAR-CIFE is using CRISPR-Cas9 to knock out the myostatin gene in fish muscle cells, with the aim of producing cultivated seafood. The DBT project runs for three years.
The JRF needs an M.F.Sc. in fish biotechnology or an M.Sc. in life science/biotechnology. The Research Associate (₹61,000 + 30% HRA) also needs three years of research experience and at least two papers. Note the two dates: email your application by 7 November, then attend the walk-in in Mumbai on 16 November.
