Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Is the DigiLocker marksheet valid for college admissions and CUET counselling?
Yes, 100%. CBSE's DigiLocker-issued marksheet and passing certificate are legally valid original documents. They carry a QR code for verification. DU, JNU, NIT, IIT, and all other central/state universities accept them.

Q2. Can I still get a physical marksheet from my school?
Yes. Physical marksheets are distributed by schools after they receive them from CBSE — usually 2–4 weeks after result declaration. For immediate use, the DigiLocker copy is sufficient.

Q3. What if my date of birth or name is wrong on DigiLocker?
Contact your school immediately and ask them to raise a correction request with CBSE. Minor corrections take 2–3 weeks. Do not wait — apply for admission with a sworn affidavit in the meantime.

Q4. DigiLocker is down / not loading — what are alternative sites to check result?
Use: cbseresults.nic.in, results.gov.in, the UMANG app, or SMS your roll number to 7738299899. These sites remain active even when DigiLocker faces high traffic. Try DigiLocker again after a few hours.

Q5. I passed but my marks are lower than expected — can I apply for re-checking?
Yes. CBSE offers verification of marks, photocopy of answer sheet, and re-evaluation. Apply within 15–20 days of result declaration through cbse.gov.in. There is a fee per subject.

Q6. I don't have a mobile number linked — can someone else activate my DigiLocker?
The mobile number you register during activation becomes your DigiLocker account. You can use any personal mobile number. The school's 6-digit PIN is specific to your roll number, so the process is secure.
