MPPSC SET 2025 Result Declared – 11 May 2026

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has declared the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2025 Result on 11 May 2026. The result for 21 subjects (out of 31 total) has been released in this phase — titled "Mukhya Bhaag 87%." Results for the remaining subjects will be declared shortly. The exam was conducted on 1 March 2026 for all 31 subjects under Notification No. 01/SET/Pariksha/2025 dated 15.10.2025.

The result has been prepared following UGC guidelines (6% EWS slots) and Madhya Pradesh government reservation policy. Candidates who scored at or above the category-wise cut-off in both Paper I (General Studies – Teaching & Research Aptitude) and Paper II (subject-specific) are declared qualified.

What is MPPSC SET and What Does It Qualify You For?

MPPSC SET (State Eligibility Test) is the state-level qualifying examination for the post of Assistant Professor / Lecturer in government colleges and universities of Madhya Pradesh. It is equivalent to UGC NET, but restricted to MP state colleges. Clearing SET makes you eligible to apply for Assistant Professor vacancies advertised by MP Higher Education Department and affiliated universities.

SET is a purely qualifying exam — there is no merit list or rank. Candidates who score at or above the cut-off mark (combined in both papers) are placed in the eligibility list. No supplementary list is prepared under MP SET rules.

Subjects Declared in This Result (21 of 31)

The following 21 subjects are included in this phase of the result: Computer Science & Applications (03), Criminology (04), Defence & Strategic Studies (05), Earth/Atmospheric/Ocean & Planetary Science (08), Geography (09), History (11), Home Science (12), Law (13), Library & Information Science (14), Marathi (17), Mathematical Sciences (18), Music (19), Performing Arts (20), Philosophy (21), Physical Science (23), Psychology (25), Sanskrit (26), Sanskrit Traditional Subjects (27), Urdu (29), Visual Arts (30), and Yoga (31). Results for remaining subjects will be declared soon.

Category-Wise Cut-Off Marks (Selected Subjects)

How to Check Your MPPSC SET 2025 Result

  1. Go to the official website: mppsc.mp.gov.in
  2. Look for "What's New" or the "Result" section on the homepage
  3. Click on "State Eligibility Test (SET) 2025 – Result" (dated 11/05/2026)
  4. The result PDF lists qualified candidates' roll numbers subject-wise and category-wise
  5. Search for your roll number in your subject and category
  6. For the e-certificate (Electronic Certificate / e-Pramanik Patra): a separate link will be published on mppsc.mp.gov.in — check the website regularly

Important: No individual mark sheets or certificates will be sent by post. Individual roll-number-wise scores are NOT published separately. Only qualified roll numbers are listed in the PDF per the official notice.

Certificate Validity and What Comes Next

The MPPSC SET qualification certificate is valid for lifetime — there is no expiry like the older UGC NET certificates. Once you clear SET, you remain eligible for Assistant Professor posts in MP government colleges and universities without needing to re-appear.

After clearing SET, you can apply for Assistant Professor / Lecturer vacancies advertised by the MP Higher Education Department, state universities (DAVV, Barkatullah, RDVV, Vikram, etc.), and affiliated colleges. Vacancies are typically notified via MPPSC or university-level recruitment. You will need to submit the e-Pramanik Patra (electronic certificate) along with your application.

MPPSC SET vs UGC NET – Key Differences

Feature MPPSC SET UGC NET
Conducted by MPPSC (Madhya Pradesh) NTA (National)
Valid for posts in MP state colleges/universities only All India (central + state)
Frequency Once a year (approx.) Twice a year
Papers Paper I (General) + Paper II (Subject) Paper I (General) + Paper II (Subject)
JRF eligibility No JRF — only Assistant Professor Yes — JRF + Assistant Professor
Certificate validity Lifetime Lifetime (post-2018)

Clearing UGC NET makes you eligible for MP college posts too, but MPPSC SET is specifically designed for MP state recruitment and may be preferred by state university recruiters. Both are acceptable for Assistant Professor posts in MP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is MPPSC SET valid outside Madhya Pradesh?

No. MPPSC SET qualification is valid only for Assistant Professor posts in Madhya Pradesh government colleges and affiliated universities. For posts outside MP, you need UGC NET or the respective state SET.

Q: How many attempts are allowed for MPPSC SET?

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for MPPSC SET as long as you meet the eligibility criteria (post-graduation in the relevant subject, age 21–40 with applicable relaxations).

Q: Is there an interview round after clearing SET?

No. MPPSC SET has no interview stage. It is a two-paper written exam only. Clearing it gives you eligibility — actual hiring for Assistant Professor posts involves a separate recruitment process (interview/DV) conducted by the college or university.

Q: What if I qualified Paper I but failed Paper II?

You must clear both papers together to qualify. The cut-off is applied on the combined total of Paper I + Paper II (out of 300 marks). Passing one paper alone does not grant any eligibility or partial certificate.

Q: When will the e-certificate (Pramanik Patra) be available?

The e-Pramanik Patra (Electronic Certificate) link will be published on mppsc.mp.gov.in shortly after the result. No physical certificate will be sent — the electronic one is the only official document. Keep checking the official website.

Q: My subject result is not in this list — when will it come?

This phase (declared 11 May 2026) covers 21 of the 31 subjects. The remaining 10 subjects' results will be declared shortly. The official notice states results for remaining subjects will be declared "soon." Keep checking mppsc.mp.gov.in for updates.
