UPPSC LT Grade Social Science Result 2025 — What This Selection Means
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has declared the Result for LT Grade (Lower Training Grade) Assistant Teacher — Social Science Recruitment 2025. LT Grade teachers are appointed to Classes 6–8 in UP government schools (Upper Primary level). This is a permanent government teaching post under the UP Education Department.
Social Science at the upper primary level covers History, Geography, Civics, and Economics — you'll be teaching all four as an integrated subject in most UP government schools. The LT Grade exam was conducted subject-wise, and this result is specifically for the Social Science paper. Candidates from History, Geography, Political Science, or Social Science graduation/post-graduation backgrounds typically dominate this result.
LT Grade vs Other UP Teacher Posts
There are multiple teacher cadres in UP — understanding where LT Grade fits helps you know the career trajectory:
- Primary Teacher (Class 1–5): Recruited via UPTET + DELED/BTC qualification. Lowest in the hierarchy.
- LT Grade / Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6–8): This post. Requires graduation + B.Ed/BTC + UPTET (Paper 2 clearing).
- GIC Lecturer / PGT Pravakta (Class 9–12): Requires post-graduation + B.Ed. Higher pay, harder exam.
LT Grade is placed at Pay Level 7 (₹44,900 basic) — a respectable teaching pay level. In-hand with UP state DA and allowances: approximately ₹65,000–₹70,000/month.
Document Verification
DV documents: 10th, 12th, graduation and post-graduation certificates; B.Ed certificate; UPTET Paper 2 certificate (must show Social Science qualification); UP domicile certificate; category certificate in UP format; Aadhar + photo ID; 6 photographs. EWS candidates need current-year EWS certificate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can LT Grade teachers apply for GIC Lecturer (Pravakta) posts?
Yes. LT Grade teachers who have the required post-graduation qualification can appear for UPPSC GIC Lecturer exam while serving. Many LT Grade teachers use this as a stepping stone to Pravakta posts. There's no service-based restriction on appearing for higher-level teacher recruitment exams.
Q: Are LT Grade teachers transferred across districts?
LT Grade teachers are posted and transferred within UP by the Basic Shiksha Parishad (for classes 1–8) or the respective district education office. Transfers happen periodically — you can request a transfer to your home district after a minimum initial posting period. UP has a digital teacher transfer system where requests and approvals are processed online through the department portal.
