Frequently Asked Questions

1When do I need to split a PDF for government job applications?

You may need to split a PDF in several situations: (1) You received a merged PDF from DigiLocker or another service and need to extract individual certificates, (2) Your 10th marksheet and certificate are in one PDF but the portal needs them separately, (3) You scanned multiple documents together and need individual files, (4) A government portal allows maximum 1 page per upload and you have a multi-page document.

2How does "Extract specific pages" work?

Enter page numbers separated by commas and ranges with hyphens. For example, "1,3,5-7" extracts pages 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7 from the PDF and creates one new PDF containing exactly those pages in that order. This is useful when you want to extract a specific certificate from a larger document.

3What does "Split at page" mean?

This option splits the PDF into exactly two parts at the page number you specify. If you enter "3" for a 10-page PDF, you get: PDF 1 with pages 1-3, and PDF 2 with pages 4-10. This is useful when you scanned multiple documents in sequence and want to divide them.

4Will splitting affect PDF quality?

No. The tool extracts pages directly without re-rendering. All text, images, stamps, and signatures remain at their original quality. The output PDFs are identical copies of the corresponding pages from the original.

5Can I extract all pages as individual files?

Yes. The "Extract all pages individually" option creates one separate PDF file per page. If your PDF has 5 pages, you get page_1.pdf, page_2.pdf, page_3.pdf, page_4.pdf, and page_5.pdf — each as a single-page document.

6My PDF is password-protected. Can I still split it?

The tool will attempt to open the PDF. If it is secured with an owner password (print/copy restrictions) but viewable, it may still work. If it requires a user password to open, you will need to remove the password protection first using a PDF password removal tool.

7How do I download all the split pages?

After splitting, each output PDF appears in a list with its own Download button. For "Extract all pages" mode with many pages, click each Download button individually. Your browser may ask for permission to download multiple files — click Allow.
