ITBP AC Engineer Eligibility 2026 – Age, Qualification & Physical Standards

ITBP is recruiting just 6 Assistant Commandant (Engineer) posts in 2026. Age Limit — With Exact Cutoff Date

Your age is calculated as on 11 May 2026. To be eligible, you must have been born between 12 May 1996 (minimum age 30) and 10 May 2005 (minimum age 21).

Age Relaxation by Category

Educational Qualification

You need a B.E. or B.Tech degree from a recognized university in one of these three branches:

• Civil Engineering
• Electrical Engineering (including Electrical & Electronics)
• Mechanical Engineering

The degree must be from a UGC-recognized university or AICTE-approved institution. A final-year student waiting for results is not eligible — you must have a complete degree before the application deadline of 20 May 2026.

Physical Standards

This is an officer-level entry. The physical standards are less strict than constable-level posts but are still mandatory.

Height relaxation: Candidates from Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkha, Sikkimese, Assam, and other hilly regions of North-East India get 5 cm height relaxation as per GOI rules.

Medical Standards

You must be in good physical and mental health. Key disqualifying conditions include:

• Vision: Minimum 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye (with or without correction). Myopia should not exceed -4.00D; hypermetropia should not exceed +4.00D.
• Color blindness: Disqualifying — you must have normal color vision.

Can You Apply If You Are Already in a Government Job?

Yes — government employees can apply for ITBP AC Engineer. However, you must submit a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current employer at the time of document verification. If selected, you will need to formally resign from your current position before joining ITBP. Ex-Servicemen — Special Provisions

PST — उस दिन क्या होता है

क्या Government Employee Apply कर सकते हैं?
