Age Limit — With Exact Cutoff Date
Your age is calculated as on 11 May 2026. To be eligible, you must have been born between 12 May 1996 (minimum age 30) and 10 May 2005 (minimum age 21).

Educational Qualification
You need a B.E. or B.Tech degree from a recognized university in one of these three branches:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering (including Electrical & Electronics)
- Mechanical Engineering
The degree must be from a UGC-recognized university or AICTE-approved institution. A final-year student waiting for results is not eligible — you must have a complete degree before the application deadline of 20 May 2026.

Medical Standards
You must be in good physical and mental health. Key disqualifying conditions include:

Nationality
Candidates must be Indian citizens. Citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibetan refugees settled in India before 1 January 1962 may also be eligible subject to a security clearance certificate.
OBC Non-Creamy Layer — What It Means and What Proof You Need
If you are applying under OBC category and want the 3-year age relaxation and fee exemption (note: ITBP charges ₹400 for OBC, not exempt), you must submit an OBC Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate. Here is exactly what is required:
- Issued by: SDM/Tehsildar/District Magistrate — must be a competent authority
- Validity: OBC NCL certificate must not be older than 1 year from the date of application
- Income limit: Combined family income must be below ₹8 lakh per annum (from all sources, excluding income from cultivation of land)
