Paper 2 Eligibility — Junior Level (Class 6-8 Teachers)

Teaching older students requires a higher qualification. You need graduation + a professional teaching degree. Here are your options:

Option 1: Graduation + B.Ed (Most Common)

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks
• B.Ed (1-year or 2-year) — passed or appearing in final year

Option 2: Graduation + B.Ed (NCTE Relaxation)

• Bachelor's Degree with at least 45% marks
• B.Ed as per NCTE Recognition Norms

Option 3: Post-Graduation + B.Ed

Can You Give Both Papers?

Yes! If you meet the eligibility for both Paper 1 and Paper 2, you can appear for both in the same exam cycle. Paper 1 is held in the morning shift and Paper 2 in the evening shift — so there's no timing conflict.

Why should you? Simple — more options. With both papers cleared, you can apply for primary teacher posts AND junior teacher posts. Given how competitive these exams are, why limit yourself?

What About Final Year Students?

• Yes, final year students CAN appear for UPTET. If you're in the last year of D.El.Ed, B.Ed, BTC, B.El.Ed, or B.A.Ed — you are eligible.
• But — your UPTET certificate will only be valid after you pass your professional course.
• If you fail your D.El.Ed / B.Ed after clearing UPTET, your UPTET certificate becomes invalid.

I'm from another state. Can I give UPTET?

My graduation marks are 49.5% — does it round to 50%?

I have B.A + B.Ed. Can I teach Science/Maths in Paper 2?

Is computer certificate (CCC/BCC) required for UPTET?
