Salary / Pay
On commissioning, JAG officers join as Lieutenant in the Army's legal branch. As per standard Defence pay rules, this is Pay Matrix Level 10 with a starting basic pay of around ₹56,100 per month, plus Military Service Pay and allowances (this pay figure is indicative — the fetched notification page does not state pay; please confirm in the official notification).
