MP Guest Teacher (Atithi Shikshak) Recruitment 2026 — What You Need to Know
Madhya Pradesh School Education Department runs the Guest Teacher (Atithi Shikshak) scheme to fill temporary teaching positions across government schools in the state. Under GFMS 3.0 (Guest Faculty Management System), both new candidates and previously registered guest teachers can register or update their profiles online. Selection is entirely merit-based — your TET score, qualifications, and prior teaching experience are the deciding factors. There is no written exam for this process.
Guest teachers are appointed at three levels — Varg 1 (high school/higher secondary), Varg 2 (middle school), and Varg 3 (primary school). Each Varg has different qualification requirements and a different monthly honorarium. Once appointed, attendance is recorded digitally through the official app, and honorarium is generated only for days you teach.
| Varg (Category) | Classes | Required Qualification | Monthly Honorarium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Varg 1 | Class 9–12 | Graduation + B.Ed/D.El.Ed + MP TET (Higher Secondary) | ₹9,000/month |
| Varg 2 | Class 6–8 | Graduation + B.Ed/D.El.Ed + MP TET (Middle) | ~₹7,500/month |
| Varg 3 | Class 1–5 | 12th + D.El.Ed/B.Ed + MP TET (Primary) | ₹5,000/month |
Note: Varg 2 honorarium is approximate. Verify exact amount from the official GFMS portal notification before applying.
Eligibility at a Glance
- For Varg 1: Bachelor's degree in relevant subject + B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a recognized university. MP TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) 2018 or later — mandatory. Postgraduate qualification adds preference points.

Selection Process — How Merit Is Calculated
There is no written exam. Your merit score is calculated based on:
- Academic qualifications — percentage in graduation, postgraduation, and B.Ed
- TET score — your MP Teacher Eligibility Test marks carry significant weight
- Teaching experience — prior guest teaching experience in MP government schools adds preference points
Based on this merit list, Sankul (cluster) Principals invite candidates for document verification and appointment. Appointments are school-year-based (usually June–March academic session).
