RRB ALP CEN 01/2025 Vacancy Increase — What It Means for You
The Railway Recruitment Boards have released a Vacancy Increase Notice for CEN 01/2025 ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) recruitment. Originally, 10,970 posts were notified across 28 RRB zones. The exam was conducted on 13–18 February 2026 and the Answer Key was published on 20 March 2026. The vacancy increase means more candidates will now be called for the next stages — a positive development for all who appeared in the exam.
Why Do Vacancies Increase After Exam?
This is a regular occurrence in Railway recruitment. After the initial exam, Railways receive updated vacancy data from different zones and departments — new posts get sanctioned, existing vacancies that were on hold get approved, or posts previously blocked due to administrative reasons are released. The revised (increased) vacancy count directly affects the cut-off scores and the number of candidates called for Stage 2 (CBT 2 / CBAT).
Next Steps for Candidates
Stage 1 result will be declared considering the revised vacancy count. Qualified candidates will be called for CBT Stage 2 (covering relevant trade syllabus) followed by the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for ALP posts. After clearing both, candidates face Document Verification and Medical Examination. Check your registered RRB zone's official website and rrbapply.gov.in regularly for Stage 1 result and Stage 2 schedule.
