Eligibility
Every post asks for experience, usually 2 years after qualifying, counted up to 30 September 2026. Technical Assistants need a 3-year full-time diploma in their branch; a B.E. or B.Tech without a diploma is not accepted. Junior Supervisors need an electrical diploma plus either an industrial safety diploma or a 33KV supervisor licence. Welder, Instrument Mechanic and Diesel Mechanic need the matching ITI. Shipwright Fitter, Khalasi, Safety Steward, EOT Crane Operator, 3G Welder and Painter are built on an SSC with trade certificates or shipbuilding experience. Nurse needs B.Sc Nursing or a nursing diploma, and Steward cum Cook needs SSC with 10 years in cooking and catering.
For UR and EWS candidates the maximum age is 33 years for posts 2 to 19 and 41 years for Steward cum Cook, as on 30 September 2026. The OBC-reserved Hindi Translator post allows up to 36. OBC (NCL) get 3 extra years and SC/ST get 5, but only on a post that has a seat for your category. PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Agniveer relaxation follows Government of India rules. After every relaxation, the age cannot cross 56.

Salary / Stipend

Pay is consolidated and rises each contract year. Posts 1 to 3 get Rs 41,400, 43,500 and 45,700; posts 4 to 10 get Rs 31,200, 32,800 and 34,500; posts 11 to 17 get Rs 28,700, 30,200 and 31,800; 3G Welder and Painter get Rs 27,200, 28,600 and 30,100; and Steward cum Cook gets Rs 40,700, 42,800 and 45,000. PF, ESI and tax are deducted. You also get medical benefits, canteen, welfare facilities and group accident insurance, but no pay protection.
Selection Process
You face a written test, document verification and then a skill or trade test. The written paper, CBT or pen and paper, is normally 25% general aptitude and 75% subject or trade. Weightage between written and skill test is 50:50 for posts 1 to 3, 40:60 for posts 4 to 10 and 30:70 for posts 11 to 20. General and EWS need 40% in each part; SC, ST, PwBD and OBC need 35% where the post is reserved for them. Question count and syllabus are not stated.
