Eligibility
For Mate Mines, Shotfirer/Blaster (Mines) and Driver-cum-Mechanic (LMV), you need to have passed Class 10; no ITI is required. For the other 16 trades you need Class 10 plus an ITI in the same trade from a recognised institute. Candidates with a Diploma or B.E. will not be considered, and higher degrees such as B.A./B.Sc./B.Com get no extra weight. If you passed ITI in 2025 or earlier, you must upload an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper stating that you have not done apprenticeship or taken a job anywhere before. Anyone who has already completed apprenticeship under NAPS is not eligible.
Your age must be 18 to 25 years as on 1 November 2026. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Selection Process
There is no written exam. The merit list is made from your marks: 70% weight to Class 10 marks and 30% to ITI marks in the relevant trade. For trades without ITI, Class 10 marks get 100% weight. If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate is placed higher. A CGPA in Class 10 is converted to percentage by multiplying by 9.5. The shortlisted candidates list will be published on 8 December 2026.
