IIT Hyderabad Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Assistant Professor, Associate Professor & Professor

IIT Hyderabad is recruiting faculty at four levels across 16 departments, from AI and Climate Change to Liberal Arts and Design. The advertisement does not give a number of posts: hiring is by each department's research needs, though exceptional candidates in any specialisation of a listed department are also considered.

The entry point for a fresh PhD is Assistant Professor Grade-II, at a minimum of ₹98,200 (Level 10); with three years of post-PhD experience you can apply at Grade-I (₹1,01,500, Level 12). Every level needs a PhD with a first class in the preceding degree and a strong publication record in Q1 journals and A*/A conferences. Upper age limits are given as "preferably" 35, 45 and 55 for the three levels, with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 for OBC-NCL and 10 for PwBD.

New faculty get a ₹10 lakh seed grant, relocation support up to ₹1.5 lakh and ₹3 lakh professional development allowance for every three years, as per the advertisement. Apply online by 12 November 2026.
