NIT Silchar JRF 2026 – Civil Engineering ANRF Geothermal Rocks Project, ₹37,000 + HRA, Apply by 30 November

NIT Silchar has one Junior Research Fellow post in its Civil Engineering department for an ANRF project on geothermal reservoir rocks and hot springs in the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh. You will test the strength and permeability of rocks under different heat treatments in the lab and help build numerical models of heat, fluid flow and earthquakes caused by water and CO₂ injection. Pay is ₹37,000 a month, plus 10% HRA if the institute does not give you housing, for two years with a yearly review.

You qualify with a B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering plus GATE, or an M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc. in those branches, Earth Science or Geology; GATE/NET holders get preference.
