Agniveer 2026 — Age Limit

Physical Standards — Height, Weight & Chest

Height and chest measurements are non-negotiable. Unlike written exams where you can improve with preparation, these are physical parameters. If you're 168 cm and the requirement is 170 cm, there's no workaround. Measure yourself accurately before applying.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

This is where physical preparation matters most. The PFT is conducted at rally centres and is qualifying — you either pass or you're out.

1.6 km Run — Bonus Marks System

Pull-ups — Bonus Marks

Preparation tip: Start running 1.6 km daily — aim for under 5:30. Practice pull-ups — start from 2-3 and add one per week. Most failures happen in the run and pull-ups, not the ditch or balance.

Medical Standards

• Vision: 6/6 in better eye, 6/9 in worse eye (without glasses). Colour vision must be normal — CP-III standard.

Is there any age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC?
No. The Agnipath scheme has a uniform age limit for all categories — no relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, or any other category. This is one of the strictest aspects of the scheme.

Can girls apply for Agniveer?
Yes. Women can apply for the Agniveer Women Military Police (WMP) category. Age limit is 17.5-21 years. Height: 152 cm. Education: 10th pass with 45% aggregate.

I wear glasses. Am I eligible?

Are tattoos allowed for Agniveer?

What if I'm 168 cm and the height requirement is 170 cm?

Can I apply for multiple Agniveer posts?
You can indicate multiple preferences (GD, Technical, Clerk, Tradesman) in your application, provided you meet the education criteria for each. The Army assigns based on merit and availability.

Is NCC certificate helpful?
Yes. NCC 'A', 'B', and 'C' certificate holders get bonus marks in the final merit. NCC 'C' with 'A' grading gets the highest bonus. Candidates with NCC are also eligible for direct entry to some categories.
