The Indian Army conducts Agniveer Rally recruitment at Army Recruiting Offices across India, and this 2026 notification covers rally schedules for multiple ARO jurisdictions. The rally-based system means you physically appear at a designated centre for physical testing, medical examination, and document verification — followed by the Common Entrance Examination conducted online. For young men aged 17.5-23 who want to serve in the Indian Army, the rally is the first step of the journey.
How the Rally System Works
After registering on joinindianarmy.nic.in, you receive an admit card specifying your rally date and location. At the rally centre, you undergo Physical Fitness Test (1.6 km run, pull-ups, balance beam, 9-feet ditch jump), Physical Measurement Test (height, weight, chest expansion), and medical screening. Candidates who clear these stages proceed to the CEE (Common Entrance Examination) — an online test conducted separately. Your CEE score determines final merit among physically qualified candidates.
Categories Available
General Duty (10th pass, 45%), Technical (12th PCM, 50%), Clerk/SKT (12th, 60%), Tradesman (10th/8th pass depending on trade). Each category has different physical standards, academic requirements, and CEE syllabus. GD involves combat training, Technical involves equipment maintenance, Clerk handles administration, and Tradesman covers essential support services.
Compensation
Rs 30,000-40,000 monthly package over 4 years. Seva Nidhi ~Rs 11.71 lakh at exit. Free food, accommodation, uniform, medical. Rs 48 lakh insurance. Top 25% permanent absorption.
Preparation Tips
Physical preparation is non-negotiable — start running 1.6 km daily at least 3 months before your rally date. Practice pull-ups (minimum 6 required, more = bonus marks). For CEE, focus on GK, Maths, and reasoning for GD; Physics and Maths for Technical; English and Computer for Clerk. The rally is your gateway — physical fitness gets you through the door, CEE score gets you the seat.
