Eligibility
Every post accepts only regular, full-time courses; correspondence, distance and private degrees are not eligible. Trainee Chemical and Instrumentation need a 3-year diploma with 60% (SC/ST 55%) and an apprenticeship. Attendant Operator and Lab Assistant need a B.Sc with 55% (SC/ST 50%) and an apprenticeship. Fireman needs a 2-year B.Sc in Fire, IT Services a 3-year BCA passed in 2024, 2025 or 2026, and Materials a diploma in material management with 60%. Junior Steno needs graduation with a secretarial, computer or shorthand course. Welder needs an NCVT ITI and 8 years of high-pressure piping welding, and Rigger needs 10th pass and 10 years of heavy-lift work. Candidates with B.Tech, BE, MCA, MBA or a Master's degree are not eligible.
The minimum age is 18 years as on 1 October 2026. The maximum is 27 years for most posts, 28 years for Trainee (Fireman) and 35 years for Welder and Rigger. SC and ST candidates get 5 years of relaxation and OBC candidates 3 years. Only the 10th certificate is accepted as proof of age, and the same date of birth must be on your Aadhaar card.

The trainee stipend is Rs 31,000 a month for Chemical, Attendant Operator, Instrumentation and Lab Assistant, followed by absorption in the L0 grade (Rs 34,000 – 64,000) after one year. Fireman gets Rs 31,000 in the first year and Rs 31,500 in the second, and Materials Rs 31,000 and Rs 32,000, both with a 2-year training. IT Services gets Rs 28,400 for one year, then the L1 grade (Rs 31,500 – 59,000). Welder is placed in the L0 grade, and Rigger and Junior Steno in the N0 grade (Rs 27,500 – 51,000). Absorption after training depends on IFFCO's needs and your assessment.
Selection Process
Most posts have an online written test, an interview, document verification and a medical fitness check. Junior Steno has a computer-based typing test instead of the written test.
