MDL Trade Apprentice 2026 — 495 Apprentice Seats at Mazagon Dock
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), the Mumbai warship and submarine builder, has opened 495 Trade Apprentice seats. The vacancies are split across three groups so that 8th, 10th, and ITI pass candidates can all apply: Group A (10th pass) 100 seats with 2-year training, Group B (ITI pass) 355 seats with 1-year training, and Group C (8th pass) 40 seats. For young candidates, an apprenticeship at a defence shipyard is a strong start. The application window is 11 June to 1 July 2026.
Eligibility
Eligibility depends on the group: Group A needs a 10th pass, Group B needs ITI in the relevant trade, and Group C needs an 8th pass, all reckoned as on 1 October 2026. This is an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, so the criteria are kept accessible to school and ITI pass-outs.
Stipend and Selection
Selected apprentices receive a monthly stipend as fixed under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Selection is merit-based on your qualifying-exam marks. The application fee is ₹100 (plus bank charges) for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS; SC, ST, and Divyang (PwBD) candidates are exempt.
