Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES), an aided institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, has released Recruitment Notification 01/2026 for 254 teaching posts in its schools. Online applications run from 2 November to 22 November 2026, 11:50 PM. Trained Graduate Teacher is the largest group with 102 posts across ten subjects, and Primary Teacher is the largest single post with 89.
AEES runs 30 schools at 15 centres across India. That one fact shapes this job more than the pay does, so read the posting section below before you pay the fee. For dates and the apply link in one place, see the AEES Teaching 2026 job page. Page numbers in this article refer to the official notification.

Primary Teacher is the one post where OBC seats lead: 38 of 89, against 23 UR, 15 SC, 8 EWS and 5 ST. Nine seats in all are reserved for candidates with locomotor disability, one for hearing impairment and two for other disabilities, adjusted within these categories.
Read This First: The CTET Rule Is Not Written the Same Way Twice
A valid CTET certificate, issued on or before 22 November 2026, is essential for Primary Teacher and for most TGT subjects. Without it, a coaching plan for this exam is wasted. The trouble is that the notification lists the exceptions differently in two places:
| Where | What it says |
|---|---|
| Para 4.6 | CTET needed for PRT and TGTs, except Music, Art Education, Librarian and Physical Education |
| Para 14 (n) | CTET needed for PRT and TGTs, except Computer Science, Art Education and P&HE |
| Document list (item XIII) | CTET Part-II marks statement not applicable for TGT Computer Science, P&HE and Art Education |
| Post-wise qualifications | TGT Computer Science (section G), P&HE, Art Education and Librarian list no CTET condition |
Three of these four places point the same way for TGT Computer Science: no CTET. Only para 4.6 leaves it out of the exception list. Our reading is that CTET is not required for that post, but this is our reading and not an AEES statement. If you hold no CTET and want TGT Computer Science, write to pers-conf@aees.gov.in before paying.
The CTET level matters too. TGT subjects that need it ask for Paper-II, and Primary Teacher asks for Paper-I. The notification also states the qualifying marks: 60% for unreserved posts and 55% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD posts (para 14 o). PGT, Principal and Vice-Principal have no CTET condition.
Eligibility, Post by Post
| Post | Essential qualification (short form) |
|---|---|
| Primary Teacher | Class 12 with 50% + 2-year D.El.Ed type diploma, or 4-year B.El.Ed, or RCI D.Ed Special Education; CTET Paper-I |
| PRT Music | Class 12 with 50% + bachelor's in Music or Performing Arts, with music as main subject in all years. A music diploma is not accepted |
| Balvatika Teacher | Class 12 with 50% and English at +2 level + diploma of at least 2 years in Nursery, Pre-School or ECCE, or B.Ed (Nursery) |
| TGT | Graduation with 50% in the subject and in aggregate + B.Ed with 50% (or listed integrated routes) + CTET Paper-II where required |
| TGT Computer Science | BSc CS/IT, BCA, BE/BTech CS/IT, or DOEACC A Level with graduation, 50% + B.Ed with 50% |
| TGT P&HE | 4-year BPE type course, or graduation + B.P.Ed, 50% in each |
| TGT Art Education | Bachelor's in Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Art or Fine Arts with 50%, Drawing and Painting as main subject in all years + B.Ed |
| Librarian | Bachelor's in Library Science or Library & Information Science with 50% + computer knowledge |
| PGT | Master's in the subject with 50% + B.Ed with 50% (or listed integrated routes). MSc candidates must have studied the subject at graduation level too |
| Vice-Principal | Master's + B.Ed, each 50% + working as Vice-Principal at Level 10, or 6 years as PGT/Lecturer at Level 8 |
| Principal | Master's + B.Ed, each 50% + working as Principal at Level 12, or 3 years as Vice-Principal at Level 10, or 12 years as PGT/Lecturer at Level 8, or a combination of PGT and VP service totalling 12 years |
Three subject traps that reject good candidates
- TGT Maths-Physics: you need Maths as main subject for 3 years, Physics for at least 1 year, and one of Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science or Statistics for at least 1 year. BSc (Hons) in Physics or Chemistry is not eligible (p.8–9).
- TGT Social Studies: two of History, Geography, Economics and Political Science, one of which must be History or Geography for 3 years (p.9).
- PGT Commerce: an M.Com in Applied or Business Economics is not accepted (p.6).
Check your mark sheets against these lines year by year before paying. Eligibility is only checked in full at the later stage, so a wrong application can pass the CBT and still fail (para 14). Even then the fee is gone.
Age Limit and Relaxation
Age is counted on 22 November 2026, and the minimum for all candidates is 18. The upper limits are in the table above. Relaxation is the most generous part of this notification (p.12):
| Category | Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 5 years |
| OBC (NCL) | 3 years |
| Women of all categories (PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, Balvatika only) | 10 years |
| PwBD | 10 years General, 13 OBC, 15 SC/ST |
| Regular AEES employees; 3 years of Central Govt service in the same or allied cadre | 5 years General, 8 OBC, 10 SC/ST |
Two rules change the arithmetic. First, relaxations do not stack: if you qualify for more than one, you get only the single highest. An SC woman applying for Primary Teacher therefore gets 10 years, not 15, so her limit is 40. Second, SC, ST and OBC relaxation works only on vacancies reserved for those categories. Look at the seat table: TGT Hindi-Sanskrit has no SC or ST seat, so that relaxation gives nothing there. The women's relaxation has no such condition written against it.
Exam Pattern
All posts take a Computer Based Test of multiple-choice questions, with no negative marking and no re-evaluation.
| Section (PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, Music, Balvatika) | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| General English | 5 | 5 |
| General Hindi | 5 | 5 |
| General Reasoning | 5 | 5 |
| General Knowledge | 5 | 5 |
| Basic Computer Literacy | 5 | 5 |
| Numerical Ability | 5 | 5 |
| Teaching Methodology | 15 | 15 |
| Subject Concerned | 75 | 75 |
| Total (2 hours) | 120 | 120 |
Principal and Vice-Principal take a 150-question paper in 2 hours 30 minutes, weighted towards school leadership, administration and finance. The detailed syllabus for each post is on the AEES application portal, not in the notification.
The Selection Maths Most Candidates Miss
For every teacher post, the Skill Test is only Go or No Go. It is a chalk-and-board teaching demonstration on a topic given to you, and it carries no marks. Those who get Go are placed in order of CBT marks alone (para 9.3.2). So your rank is fixed by the CBT. There is no interview to rescue a weak score.
To reach the Skill Test you need at least 60% in the CBT for UR and EWS vacancies, which is 72 out of 120, or 54% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD vacancies, which works out to 65. AEES may lower these to 55% and 49% if too few qualify. Crossing the line is not enough, because only a fixed number are called (para 9.2.2):
| Vacancies | Called for Skill Test |
|---|---|
| UR 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | 5 / 8 / 10 / 12 candidates |
| UR 5 to 10 | Twice the vacancies + 4 |
| UR above 10 | 1.5 times the vacancies + 3, at least 24 |
| Reserved | Five times the vacancies |
Worked out for two real cases: TGT Maths-Physics has 9 UR seats, so 22 candidates are called. Primary Teacher has 23 UR seats, so 38 are called, while its 38 OBC seats mean 190 OBC candidates are called. The select list equals the vacancies, and a waiting list of the same size stays valid for one year.
For Principal and Vice-Principal the final merit is 50:50 between CBT and interview, with 60% (UR) or 54% (reserved) needed in both.
Where You Will Actually Work
The 15 AEES centres are Anushaktinagar and Tarapur (Maharashtra), Kaiga and Mysuru (Karnataka), Kudankulam, Kalpakkam/Anupuram and Pazhayakayal (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad and Manuguru (Telangana), OSCOM (Odisha), Jaduguda/Narwapahar/Turamdih (Jharkhand), Narora (Uttar Pradesh), Rawatbhata (Rajasthan), Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Kakrapar (Gujarat).
The notification is blunt: first posting can be anywhere in India, and requests to change station "will not be entertained". Schools are English-medium, CBSE, from Balvatika to Class 12. If you are applying from UP or Bihar, plan on the realistic chance of a posting in Tamil Nadu or Karnataka. Candidates who cannot accept that should not spend the fee.
The notification gives pay levels only. It does not state allowances, so we are not printing an in-hand figure here.
Fee and How to Apply
- General, OBC, EWS men: ₹750 application fee + ₹250 processing fee = ₹1,000, per post.
- Women, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen: ₹250 processing fee only.
- Bank GST is extra, and the fee is not refundable.
- Apply only at aees.onlineregistrationforms.com.
- Choose your post from the drop-down. Inside PGT you may pick one subject only, and inside TGT also one subject only, even if you qualify for more.
- You may apply across different posts, such as TGT and PRT, by paying separately for each. Exam centres may then differ.
- Choose your CBT city. There are 44 options across India, including Lucknow, Allahabad, Patna, Bhopal, Indore, Jaipur, Kota, Ranchi and Delhi. Inside Delhi NCR and inside Mumbai you may choose only one.
Prepare these documents early
Two items catch people out. A Police Verification Certificate not older than 6 months is needed at the Skill Test or interview; if you do not have it, you must carry the acknowledged application for it, or you will not be allowed to appear. Candidates working in government must also bring an original No Objection Certificate with vigilance clearance. The OBC certificate must be dated on or after 1 April 2026. The Skill Test happens only in Mumbai, and travel allowance is available only to eligible outstation SC and ST candidates.
A Six-Week Preparation Plan (Our Suggestion)
This plan is our advice, not from AEES. Since 90 of 120 marks come from your subject and teaching methodology, that is where the time should go.
| Weeks | Focus |
|---|---|
| 1–2 | Download the post-wise syllabus from the portal and map it against your CTET and degree notes. Cover the weakest subject units first. |
| 3–4 | Subject depth for 3 hours a day; 1 hour of teaching methodology from your B.Ed or D.El.Ed material. |
| 5 | The 30 general questions: English, Hindi, reasoning, GK, computer basics, numerical ability. Do not over-study; these are 5 marks each. |
| 6 | Timed 120-question mocks, including the mock link AEES gives in your login after the call letter. With no negative marking, attempt every question. |
Also practise one 10-minute board lesson on a basic topic in your subject. The Skill Test carries no marks, but a No Go ends your selection whatever your CBT score.
Who Should Apply, and Who Should Skip
Apply if you hold the CTET paper your post needs, your degree subjects match the notes above, you can teach comfortably in English, and you accept an all-India posting. CTET-qualified women who crossed the normal age limit have a real opening here thanks to the 10-year relaxation.
Skip if you are still finishing your B.Ed or D.El.Ed and will not hold the qualification by 22 November, if you need a posting in your home state, or if your mark sheets miss a subject combination. For UP-based teaching jobs, compare the UP TGT 2026 guide first.
