Application Fee
AIIMS CRE has a flat fee structure. An important point: if you are applying to posts under two different groups (Group B and Group C separately), you must pay the fee separately for each group's application. Paying once does not cover both.
| Category | Fee |
|---|
| General / OBC / EWS | ₹1,000 per group |
| SC / ST | ₹0 (Fee exempted) |
| PwD (all categories) | ₹0 (Fee exempted) |
| Women (all categories) | ₹0 (Fee exempted) |
| Ex-Servicemen | ₹0 (Fee exempted) |
Fee is paid online through aiimsexams.ac.in. Debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI are accepted. Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Selection Process
AIIMS CRE does not use any existing score (like GATE or CUET). Every candidate goes through a fresh examination cycle conducted by AIIMS. The process has up to three stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective MCQ paper. The paper has a General section (common to all posts) plus a Technical/Post-specific section. Shortlisted candidates proceed to the next stage.
- Skill Test / Practical Test: Applicable for posts like JAA (typing/computer proficiency test) and certain technical posts where practical skill verification is required. This stage is qualifying in nature.
- Document Verification (DV): Final stage. You present original documents to verify all claims made in your application. If documents are found to be incorrect or forged, candidature is cancelled at this stage.
There is no interview stage for any Group C post. Group B posts may have an additional assessment as per the notification — check the official advertisement on aiimsexams.ac.in for post-specific selection details.
Documents Required at Application Stage
Keep these ready before you start filling the online form, as uploads are mandatory:

- 12th mark sheet (for posts requiring 12th as minimum qualification)
- Graduation degree / mark sheet (for posts requiring graduation)
- Diploma / Certificate in the relevant technical course (MLT, Radiology, OT, Medical Records)
- Pharmacy Council Registration Certificate (for Pharmacist post)
- Category certificate — SC/ST/OBC/EWS (if applicable, issued by competent authority)
- PwD certificate (if applicable)
- Ex-Servicemen Discharge Book / PPO (if applicable)
- Valid email ID and mobile number for OTP-based registration

No Domicile Restriction
AIIMS CRE is a central government recruitment. There is no state-wise domicile restriction. Any Indian citizen who meets the post-specific eligibility can apply, regardless of their home state. Posts are at various AIIMS institutes across India — New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Nagpur, Kalyani, and others. Post allocation to a specific AIIMS is done at the time of appointment, not application.
Common Disqualifications — Who Cannot Apply
- Candidates who do not possess the exact educational qualification mentioned for the post (equivalent degrees may not be accepted — check the official notification).
- Pharmacist applicants who have a D.Pharm or B.Pharm but have not registered under the Pharmacy Council — registration is mandatory, not optional.
- Candidates who exceed the upper age limit (including relaxation) as on July 3, 2026.
- Candidates who submit false category certificates — this leads to immediate cancellation and possible legal action.
- Candidates who are under a debarment order from any central government recruitment body.
- Non-Indian nationals (the post is restricted to Indian citizens).
- Candidates convicted of any criminal offence — check the official notification for the specific list of disqualifying offences.
Preparation Time vs. Application Deadline
The application window closes July 3, 2026. Once you apply, the CBT date will be announced separately. Candidates typically get 4–8 weeks between application close and exam date in AIIMS CRE cycles. Here is how to use that time effectively if you are applying across multiple posts or groups:
- Apply first, prepare parallel: Do not wait to apply until you feel "ready." Submit your application as soon as the portal is open and begin preparation simultaneously. The CBT date gives you your actual study window.
- Technical posts (Pharmacist, JMLT, Radiographer): If you hold the relevant degree, you already have the conceptual foundation. Focus on MCQ-style application rather than re-learning theory.
- Administrative posts (JAA, Clerk): Computer proficiency and General English are the primary score determinants. A typing speed test may be part of the Skill Test for JAA — practice typing regularly from day one.
- General Section: This 20-question block is common to all posts and covers health GK, reasoning, and basic computer knowledge. Regardless of your post, invest at least 30 minutes daily on this section — it is where many candidates lose easy marks through neglect.
Frequently Confused Points About AIIMS CRE Eligibility
These are the points where candidates most often make errors:
- "My course is equivalent" is not always accepted: AIIMS eligibility specifies exact qualifications. If the notification says "B.Sc MLT" and your degree says "B.Sc Medical Technology," verify with AIIMS whether this is treated as equivalent before applying.
- OBC certificate validity: OBC certificates have a validity period. Some states issue OBC certificates that say "valid for one year from date of issue." If your certificate expired before July 3, 2026, get it renewed — the DV stage will verify the date.
- EWS certificates: EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificates must be issued by competent authority and must be for the current financial year 2025–26 or as per the notification requirement. Check the official advertisement for the exact year requirement.
- Age proof must be 10th certificate: Self-declarations about date of birth are not accepted. Your 10th Board marksheet or certificate is the standard proof. If you passed 10th from a state board where date of birth is not printed, bring your school leaving certificate as well.
- Multiple post codes within one group: Some posts have different post codes within the same group. Read the vacancy table carefully — applying for the wrong post code means your marks are counted for the wrong pool.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there an age relaxation for OBC candidates in AIIMS CRE 2026?
Yes. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get a relaxation of 3 years over the upper age limit. So if the upper age for a post is 30 years for General category, an OBC candidate can apply up to 33 years. OBC candidates must have a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate — Creamy Layer OBC candidates are treated as General.
Q: I have a D.Pharm degree but have not registered with the State Pharmacy Council yet. Can I apply for the Pharmacist post?
No. The eligibility for the Pharmacist post requires both: (a) D.Pharm or B.Pharm and (b) registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act. Both conditions must be fulfilled on or before the cutoff date. If you are in the process of obtaining registration, wait until it is in hand before applying, or you risk disqualification at the DV stage.
Q: I currently work at a state government hospital. Do I need an NOC to apply?
For the online application stage, an NOC is generally not required. However, if you are shortlisted and called for Document Verification, a No Objection Certificate from your current employer is typically required. It is advisable to inform your department and keep an NOC ready from the time you apply.
Q: Can I apply for both a Group B post and a Group C post in the same AIIMS CRE cycle?
Yes, you can apply to posts in both groups if you are eligible. However, the fee is charged separately per group. You will pay ₹1,000 for the Group B application and ₹1,000 separately for the Group C application (if you are in the General/OBC/EWS category). There is no combined fee.
Q: What is the age limit for OT Technician post and what relaxations apply?
The upper age for OT Technician is 30 years for General category, calculated as on July 3, 2026. SC/ST candidates get +5 years (up to 35), OBC gets +3 years (up to 33), and PwD candidates get +10 years (up to 40 for General-PwD, up to 45 for SC/ST-PwD, up to 43 for OBC-PwD).
Q: If I passed my B.Sc MLT from a deemed university, is that acceptable for JMLT?
The criterion says "recognized university." Most deemed universities recognized by the UGC and statutory councils are acceptable. However, to be safe, cross-check that your institution's B.Sc MLT is approved by the relevant body. Institutions under the purview of NAAC or recognized by the Indian Association of Pathologists are generally safe. If you are unsure, contact the AIIMS exam cell through the official portal before applying.
Q: Is there any physical fitness test for AIIMS CRE Group C posts?
No. Unlike defence or police recruitment, AIIMS CRE Group B and C posts do not have any physical fitness test or medical standard beyond the standard medical fitness required for government employment. Your academic qualification and CBT score determine your selection.
