UPTET 2026 Overview
UPTET — Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test — is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). It's a mandatory exam if you want to teach in UP government primary or upper primary schools. Paper 1 is for Classes 1-5, Paper 2 is for Classes 6-8.
The 2026 exam is scheduled across three days in July — and given how competitive UP government teaching jobs are, you don't want to miss the application window over a simple mistake.

What is OTR Registration? (And Why You Can't Skip It)
OTR stands for One Time Registration. Think of it like creating a permanent government profile — you register once, and you can use this ID for multiple exams on the pariksha.nic.in portal. It's mandatory for UPTET 2026. Without OTR, you simply cannot fill the main application form.
How to Complete OTR Registration — Step by Step:
- Open your browser and go to otr.pariksha.nic.in
- Click on "New Registration" or "OTR Registration"
- Enter your details: Full name (as per 10th certificate), Email address (active — OTPs will come here), Mobile number, Date of birth, Category (General / OBC / SC / ST / PwD)
- Upload your photograph and signature (specs below)
- Submit and note down your OTR Number — this is your login ID for future applications
Save your OTR number. Write it down. Screenshot it. Email it to yourself. People lose this and panic later.
How to Fill the UPTET 2026 Application Form
Step 1: Login
Go to the official UPTET website. Click on "UPTET 2026 Apply Online." Login with your OTR credentials (OTR number + password you set).
Step 2: Select Paper
Choose: Paper 1 only (Class 1-5), Paper 2 only (Class 6-8), or Both Papers. If eligible for both, apply for both for maximum job options.
Step 3: Fill Personal Details
Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Category, State of Domicile (Uttar Pradesh), Nationality.
Double-check everything here. DOB mismatch is the #1 reason for application rejection.
Step 4: Fill Qualification Details
12th pass details (board, year, percentage), Graduation details (university, year, percentage), Teaching qualification — B.Ed, D.El.Ed, BTC (whichever applies), Percentage in teaching qualification.
Step 5: Select Exam Centre
Select your preferred exam centre district from the list of UP districts. Pick something close to home — travelling on exam day adds stress you don't need.
Step 6: Upload Documents
Upload Photograph and Signature as per specifications below.
Step 7: Pay Fee
See fee table below. Payment via UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Card.
