Photo & Signature: Get These Right First
The most common reason applications are rejected at verification stage is a non-compliant photo or signature. Government portals are strict — even a slightly grey background or oversized file can cause rejection. Use these free tools to fix your files before uploading:
🛠️ Free Tools for Your Application Files
- 📷 Photo Resizer & Compressor Resize your photo to exact pixel dimensions and compress to under 50 KB for portal upload
- ✍️ Signature Resizer Resize your scanned signature to the exact pixel size and KB limit required (typically 140×60 px, <30 KB)
- 🎨 Background Remover Remove background and replace with white — required for most government portals
- ✂️ Photo Cropper Crop your photo to exact 3.5×4.5 cm aspect ratio before resizing
- 📊 Age Calculator Calculate your exact age as on 01 January 2026 with OBC/SC/ST relaxation check
- 📄 PDF Compressor Compress scanned document PDFs (certificates, marksheets) to under 500 KB for portal upload
Photo requirements for MPESB portal:
- Format: JPG only (not PNG, HEIC, WebP)
- Size: 10 KB to 50 KB (portal rejects files outside this range)
- Background: Plain white or very light grey
- Face: Front-facing, full face visible, no sunglasses
- Taken within the last 6 months
Signature requirements:
- On plain white paper with black or blue-black ink
- Format: JPG, 10–30 KB
- No borders, no printed boxes around signature
- Must match your name as in documents (full legal name signature)
Step 1: Register on the Portal
- Go to esb.mponline.gov.in
- Click "New Registration" or "Register"

Correction Window
MPESB provides a correction window from 22–26 May 2026 where you can fix certain fields. Not all fields are editable — typically category, name, and date of birth are locked after submission. Photo, signature, and document uploads may be editable. Do not rely on the correction window; fill correctly the first time.
