Subject 1: General Knowledge & Current Affairs (25 Marks)

This is your highest-scoring opportunity if you follow current affairs for 60–90 days before the exam. The MP GK component is consistently the differentiator between candidates who clear and those who don't.

Topic AreaExpected QuestionsFocus Points
Current Affairs (Last 6 months)6–8National, MP state events, appointments, awards
Madhya Pradesh — History & Geography4–5Rivers, national parks, historical sites, capitals
MP Govt Schemes & Policies3–4CM schemes, health programs, welfare schemes 2025–26
India — History & Polity3–4Freedom struggle, Constitution basics, Parliament
India — Geography2–3States, rivers, climate, crops
Sports & Awards2–3Khel Ratna, Olympic, Commonwealth, Arjuna Award
Science & Technology Basics2–3Recent discoveries, space missions, health news

MP-specific tip: MPESB exams consistently have 8–10 questions that can only be answered if you know MP-specific facts. Study the Chief Minister's schemes (Ladli Bahna, Mukhyamantri Krishak Mitra), MP's wildlife sanctuaries (Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench), and recent MP government appointments. These are rarely covered by generic GK books.

Subject 2: General Hindi (25 Marks)

General Hindi at 10th level tests grammar and vocabulary — not literature. Most questions are application-based (fill blanks, error correction, synonyms), not theory-based.

Subject 3: General Science (25 Marks)

General Science tests Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at 10th NCERT level. Biology questions are the most frequent — useful given this is a hospital/health sector post.

TopicExpected QuestionsImportant Subtopics
Biology — Human Body5–6Digestive, respiratory, circulatory, nervous system

Hospital sector tip: For a hospital post, examiners tend to include more health-related Biology — sanitation, infection control basics, first aid knowledge. Study these topics more thoroughly than you would for a general Group 4 exam.

Subject 4: General Mathematics & Reasoning (25 Marks)

This is typically split 15 marks Mathematics + 10 marks Reasoning, though the exact split varies. Both sections are at Class 10 standard.

What No Other Site Tells You

The single biggest mistake in MPESB Group 4 exams: candidates spend 70% of prep time on Maths and Reasoning, but these sections have no advantage — everyone scores similarly on calculation problems. The actual differentiation happens in MP-specific GK (8–10 questions no general GK book covers) and Hindi Sandhi/Samas (3–4 questions many urban candidates get wrong). If you want to rank in the top 15% of 1200 posts, prioritize MP GK and Hindi over Maths.

Science — Human Body Systems (Most Tested)

Biology questions related to the human body are the most frequently asked in hospital-sector MPESB exams. Know these systems thoroughly:

Body SystemKey OrgansFunction to RememberLikely Question
DigestiveStomach, Small intestine, Liver, PancreasLiver produces bile; Pancreas produces insulin"Which organ produces insulin?"
RespiratoryLungs, Diaphragm, AlveoliGas exchange in alveoli; diaphragm controls breathing"What is the role of alveoli?"
CirculatoryHeart, Arteries, Veins, BloodArteries carry oxygenated blood (except pulmonary)"Which blood vessels carry oxygenated blood?"
NervousBrain, Spinal cord, NervesCerebrum (thinking), Cerebellum (balance)"Which part of brain controls balance?"
ExcretoryKidneys, Ureter, BladderKidneys filter blood and produce urine"What is the functional unit of kidney?"
Skeletal206 bones, Cartilage, JointsLongest bone: Femur; smallest: Stapes"Which is the longest bone in human body?"

Mathematics — Fastest Solving Methods

Time is the critical constraint — 100 questions in 120 minutes means 72 seconds per question. These shortcuts will save you 30+ minutes:

  • Percentage shortcuts: For X% of Y, use Y/100 × X. For 25% of any number: divide by 4. For 33.3%: divide by 3. For 12.5%: divide by 8.
  • Simple Interest: SI = (P × R × T) / 100. Memorise: P = SI × 100 / (R × T). Most MPESB questions give 3 of 4 values — plug in directly.
  • Profit %: Always = (Profit / CP) × 100 — never on SP. Write CP and SP first before calculating.
  • Ratio problems: Convert to parts. "A:B = 3:5, total is 800" → A = (3/8) × 800 = 300. Works for any split.
  • Number series: Check differences first, then differences of differences. 99% of MPESB series follow arithmetic or geometric progression.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there negative marking in MPESB Hospital Assistant exam?

No — there is no negative marking. You should attempt all 100 questions. An unanswered question is a guaranteed zero; a guessed answer has a 25% chance of scoring.

Q: What is the passing marks / cut-off?

MPESB does not pre-announce a fixed pass mark. The cut-off is determined after the exam based on the number of vacancies and candidate performance. Typically, for Group 4 posts, candidates who score 55–65% have a good chance. For SC/ST categories, cut-offs are lower.

Q: Is the syllabus the same as MPESB Van Rakshak?

The four subjects are the same, but the specific question weightage may vary. Hospital Assistant questions tend to include more health/biology-related science questions compared to Van Rakshak, which has more physical science.

Q: Is Hindi medium available for the exam?

Yes — the CBT exam is available in both Hindi and English. You can switch between languages during the test in most MPESB CBT platforms.

Q: How many vacancies does this exam fill?

1200 posts across Madhya Pradesh government hospitals. The posts are distributed across departments under the MP Health and Medical Education Department.

Physics — Newton

Reasoning — Blood Relations Quick Guide

RelationHindi TermQuick Identification

  • सभी 100 questions attempt करें — no negative marking

Q: Cut-off कितनी होगी?
