Eligibility
Qualification is post-wise. System Engineer: M.Tech/M.E./M.S. (Computer Science/IT/Electronics & Communication) with at least 55% and 5 years' relevant experience; or B.Tech/B.E. (CS/IT/ECE), MCA or M.Sc Computer Science (with B.Sc CS) with 55% and 7 years; or M.Sc (CS/IT) with B.Sc in any science subject with 55% and 8 years, plus experience in server configuration, storage, backup, Linux/Unix, databases and computer networks. Maintenance Engineer (Junior): B.E./B.Tech in ECE/CSE with 55% and 5 years' experience in computer network administration, hardware, large UPS systems and centralised AC plants. Computer Operator Gr.-I: B.Sc Computer Science or BCA with 55%, or B.Sc with 55% plus PGDCA. AC Operator: ITI (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) from NCVT/SCVT and 2 years' experience in AC plants including VRV systems over 500 TR. Laboratory Attendant: Intermediate with Science and a computer hardware certificate course of at least six months. Workshop Attendant: High School, ITI in Electrician/Plumber/Fitter/Welder/Wireman from NCVT/SCVT and 1 year's experience in the trade.
The upper age limit is 50 years for System Engineer, 40 years for Maintenance Engineer (Junior) and 32 years for all Group 'C' posts. Eligibility is judged as on the last date and time of online application (25 November 2026). Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD applies as per the Government of India reservation policy and for Ex-Servicemen as per GoI rules. There is no age bar for permanent BHU employees, and service in BHU on project, contract or daily-wage basis (one stretch over six months) can be counted for age relaxation in Group B and C posts. No minimum age is given in the advertisement.

Salary / Pay
Pay is as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix: System Engineer – Level 12 (₹78,800–2,09,200), Maintenance Engineer (Junior) – Level 10 (₹56,100–1,77,500), Computer Operator Gr.-I – Level 5 (₹29,200–92,300), AC Operator – Level 3 (₹21,700–69,100), and Laboratory Attendant and Workshop Attendant – Level 1 (₹18,000–56,900). The non-refundable application fee is ₹1,000 for UR/EWS/OBC candidates in Group 'A' posts and ₹500 for UR/EWS/OBC candidates in Group 'C' posts. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates pay no fee. Payment is online by Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
Selection Process
The university will hold a written test and a skill test; the syllabus will be notified later. If many applications are received, a screening committee may shortlist candidates using higher qualifications, experience or other criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents. Daily-wage/contractual employees of the university get a weightage of 4% marks per year of service (at least 240 days a year for daily wagers), up to a maximum of 20%, in each assessment for Group 'C' posts, if they meet the eligibility.
