About Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC)
The Western Sector has the most seats (1,166: Ankleshwar 392, Ahmedabad 331, Mehsana 301, Vadodara 78, Cambay 64), followed by the Eastern Sector (674, with Nazira & Sivasagar alone at 466), the Mumbai Sector (482), the Southern Sector (269), the Central Sector (267, Agartala 200) and the Northern Sector (191). All numbers are tentative and may change as per ONGC's needs. Apply under one sector, for one work centre and one trade; if you apply for more, ONGC will allot only one.

Selection Process
After the window closes, ONGC downloads the applications from NAPS and NATS and checks qualification, age and district eligibility. A provisional merit list is made trade-wise and centre-wise on the marks in the qualifying examination; in a tie the older candidate gets preference. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification with original certificates (date of birth proof, mark sheets, ITI/diploma/degree, category and PwBD certificates, ID proof and the NAPS/NATS registration). The final list is published on ongcapprentices.ongc.co.in, and engagement depends on medical fitness. The notice gives 15 December 2026 as the date of result/selection.
How to Apply
First check Annexure-1 of the notice to see which work centres your district can apply for. For trades marked NAPS, register and apply on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in; for trades marked NATS, register and apply on nats.education.gov.in. Both portals opened on 29 October 2026 at 6 PM and close on 20 November 2026 at 11:59 PM. Fill your marks and personal details carefully, keep your email active (results and calls come by email), and do not send any hard copy: ONGC accepts online applications only.
