State Services cadre में 8–10 साल की distinguished service के बाद RAS officers को IAS में empanel किया जा सकता है। यह guaranteed नहीं है — Annual Confidential Reports (ACR), departmental examinations, और UPSC selection पर depend करता है। Empanel होने पर pay और designation IAS cadre से merge हो जाती है। IAS pay ₹56,100 (Junior Scale) से ₹2,50,000 (Cabinet Secretary) तक है। Career ceiling effectively unlimited हो जाता है।

RAS Officer की Real Life — जो कोई नहीं बताता

Salary के अलावा, Rajasthan Administrative Service officer की daily life field reality में कैसी होती है:

SDM का दिन: सुबह land disputes और stay applications की court hearings। दोपहर field visits — public works inspection, gram panchayat complaints सुनना, collector meetings। शाम को paperwork — files पर noting, revenue records। यह demanding job है लेकिन genuinely meaningful — आप अपने jurisdiction में citizens के लिए government का face हैं।

Transfers: पहले decade में transfers frequent होती हैं — आमतौर पर हर 2–3 साल। इसका मतलब है आप Rajasthan के multiple districts में रहेंगे। छोटे शहर से आने वाले के लिए यह exposure career-defining है। Family commitments वाले के लिए planning जरूरी है।

DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) posting: Police track में criminal investigation, law and order, और senior police officials के साथ coordination शामिल है। Work irregular है (night duties, emergency response), लेकिन authority और social standing और भी high है।

RAS में Senior Posting के फायदे

जैसे-जैसे career आगे बढ़ता है, perks और status दोनों बढ़ते हैं। Additional Collector level पर:

आपके पास एक official car (सरकारी गाड़ी) होती है — driver के साथ। एक peon/orderly जो official कामों में assist करता है। Commissioner level पर official bungalow, multiple staff, और statewide authority होती है। यह सब salary sheet पर नहीं दिखता, लेकिन quality of life को significantly impact करता है।

RAS Officer बनने के बाद पहले 5 साल — Realistic Expectations

बहुत से candidates सोचते हैं कि RAS officer बनते ही एक glamorous life शुरू हो जाती है। Reality थोड़ी अलग है — और यह जानना जरूरी है ताकि आप right expectations के साथ join करें।

पहले साल RIPA (Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration) में training होती है। Training residential होती है — Jaipur में hostel में रहना होता है। Training के दौरान भी salary full मिलती है लेकिन field posting नहीं होती। Training में revenue law, criminal procedure, land records, government accounts, और administrative procedures शामिल हैं। यह boring लग सकता है, लेकिन बाद में field में काम आता है।

Training के बाद first posting मिलती है। अधिकतर officers की first posting small town या block level पर होती है — major city नहीं। Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota जैसी cities में first posting नहीं मिलती आमतौर पर। यह adjustment लेता है, especially अगर आप शहर में पले-बढ़े हैं।

पहले 2–3 साल में काफी documentation होती है। Revenue records, mutation orders, court orders — सब handwritten और digitally दोनों format में। यह time-consuming काम है जो glamorous नहीं लगता। लेकिन यही administrative competence बनाता है।

Salary के perspective से: पहले साल में ₹85,000–₹90,000 in-hand काफी अच्छा है, especially अगर government accommodation मिल रहा है और शहर की cost of living कम है। Small town posting में expenses भी कम होते हैं — eating out, entertainment सब minimal होता है। बहुत से officers पहले 5 साल में substantial savings कर लेते हैं।

Loan और Housing — RAS बनने के बाद क्या Options हैं

Government employee होने के नाते आप preferential rates पर government-backed loans के eligible हैं:

Home Loan: SBI, Bank of Baroda, और अन्य PSU banks government employees को 0.25–0.50% lower interest rate पर home loan देते हैं। Rajasthan government employees को RGHB (Rajasthan Government Housing Board) schemes में preference मिलती है।

Vehicle Loan: Government employees के लिए government-negotiated rates पर vehicle loans available हैं। आमतौर पर salary के 10–15 महीने के बराबर vehicle loan मिलती है।

Festival Advance: Government employees को Diwali और Holi पर interest-free advance मिलती है — typically 1–3 months की salary। यह small benefit है लेकिन useful होता है।

Rajasthan में RAS Officer की Social Status
